Adopt a Phoenix Animal
What to expect
We pride ourselves on a high adoption success rate. We have no fixed tariff for adoption, but a financial contribution to cover the costs incurred in preparing an animal for adoption is usually expected. This varies according to various factors.

Phoenix pensioners qualify for a veterinary grant of up to 700€ towards their (PPP) care.

You’ve fallen in love with a fluffy kitten or want to give a home to an old dog - you can visit them in their foster home to meet them!
We will ask you some questions about your circumstances, such as whether you have a fenced garden, or have any other animals etc, depending on which type of animal you wish to adopt.
Once the decision has been made there will be some paperwork to complete, e.g an Adoption Form etc.

You will also be expected to keep up to date with their vaccinations and for the animal to be sterilised if needed, for example, if you’re adopting a puppy or kitten, they will need to be sterilised around 6 months old.
Meanwhile, you can prepare your home for the arrival of your new animal! When the day finally arrives for to take your long awaited pet home be prepared with a cat carrier or a dog collar and a lead, and preferably a dog tag! (and you'll take along with you their vaccination book and copy of the ICAD – microchip paperwork).
Remember, some animals need time to settle into their new environment, especially if they have been abandoned or abused. After 28 days or when the animal is sterilised, they will then be registered through ICAD into your name.
